Meet Katherine Hicks Demps

Katherine Hicks Demps has practiced law for the past 25 years – focusing on cases in family court related to dissolution of marriage, custody, adoptions, child support, visitation, and abuse and neglect.
Katherine clerked for now-retired Judges Edwin White and Pat Higgins before forming Hicks & Demps Law Office with her father, Daniel C. Hicks, where Katherine continues to practice law. Katherine’s husband, Brian Demps, is a CPA with Flynn Enterprises, Inc. Their children, Morgan and Calvin Demps, are both students at the University of Kentucky. She is a member of First United Methodist Church.
Strong Local Roots
Katherine Demps can trace her family history throughout Christian County and she has great pride for the local community.
Katherine’s great-grandfather was Howard Freeman of Freeman Furs. Her grandmother, Eloise Hicks, worked for local real estate brokers, and Katherine’s mother, Patricia Oppmann Beliles, retired from Western State Hospital and is actively involved in the community.

Katherine Demps has worked in private practice since 1997. She is admitted to practice law in the U.S. District Court, Western District of Kentucky, and Supreme Court of Kentucky. Katherine graduated from Christian County High School in 1989, from the University of Kentucky in 1993, and earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1996.
